Forqueran Thomas has a message to the computer company Dell laptop after it exploded: "Fix truck Grandpa."
Better yet, buy her a new one. Invaluable Forqueran truck is burned beyond repair, due to his laptop Dell Inspiron explosion.
Greg July 13th at the Hideout, Lake Mead National Forest, Nevada:
"It was about 13 hours. My friend Rod Riddle and I had just put the ramp on the back of the truck to start loading our camping gear. I've had my Dell Inspiron laptop on the passenger side floor, "says Forqueran.
"All of a sudden my truck - a family heirloom-burst into flames. Just three minutes before, Rod had put a few things on the passenger seat and heard a" pop "sound. Then I felt the smoke. I looked up and saw flames coming out of the passenger side window so I ran next to the driver (I had three boxes of ammunition in the glove box and I wanted them outa here) and I saw flames shooting from my Dell laptop. The flames had already engulfed the passenger side and spread quickly. We both hides and I barely had time to dodge behind my quad [ATV] when ammunition started shooting, then the gas tank exploded. "
It was 100 degrees outside and the men were stranded - cellular phone Forqueran had also increased in a column of black smoke. Fortunately for them, a nearby boater saw the fire and had to travel several miles to the park to use a phone and call Park Ranger Brandon Marsmaker.
"The park ranger was our salvation and he made a boat trip to an extra hour to bring us ice water," says Forqueran. Incredibly, the men were uninjured in the except Riddle who suffered heat exhaustion and Forqueran had a few scratches and minor burns. His greatest loss was the truck.
"I can never replace" truck Grandpa "or every hour of fun to spend the 66 Fun Runs or compliments I received on my daily" fine truck. "Grandfather bought it new and kept that way.
"You can bet that I will pursue this. My insurance covers the laptop and some of my personal property I had in the cab but I only had collision insurance on my truck. Ma insurance company had no problem achieving the laptop caused the fire.
"My truck is beyond repair and I'm angry. Sean from Dell called and made a statement, saying he would forward it to the legal department. He gave me a number phone call if I have not heard back from them right away. What a joke - it was an issue that requires you to key in a special digital code. He forgot to give me the code .
Dell will have to be careful, sooner or later. The sooner they get their hands on me it will be easier for them. And I'm not the only person whose laptop was on fire - this is not an isolated incident. For more information on laptops that explode, visit the www.laywersandsettlements.com.
